The Pagsamkha Path Trek is a scenic and culturally immersive trek through the lesser-explored trails of Bhutan. This 8-day journey offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, lush valleys, serene monasteries, and traditional Bhutanese villages. Ideal for trekkers seeking both adventure and spiritual encounters, this trek takes you through untouched landscapes and remote settlements while offering a glimpse into Bhutan’s rich heritage.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: Arrival in Paro
  • Pick-up from Paro International Airport.
  • Visit Paro Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang.
  • Trek briefing and overnight in Paro.
DAY 2

Day 2: Paro to Jele Dzong (3,400m) (8 km / 4-5 hrs trek)
Drive to the trailhead and start the trek. Gradual uphill climb through pine forests. Reach Jele Dzong, a historic fortress with stunning valley views. Overnight in tents/campsite.
DAY 3

Day 3: Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha (3,700m) (10 km / 4-5 hrs trek)
Trek along ridges with panoramic views of Paro Valley. Pass through rhododendron and alpine forests. Spot yaks grazing in open meadows. Overnight in tents/campsite.
DAY 4

Day 4: Jangchulakha to Pagsamkha Village (3,200m) (12 km / 6-7 hrs trek)
Descend through dense forests and open fields. Reach Pagsamkha, a small traditional Bhutanese village. Interaction with local villagers and cultural exploration. Overnight in village homestay or tented camp.
DAY 5

Day 5: Pagsamkha to Thimphu (2,334m) (8 km trek + 3 hrs drive)
Morning trek through forested trails to the nearest road. Drive to Thimphu, Bhutan capital city. Sightseeing: Tashichho Dzong, Memorial Chorten, and Buddha Dordenma. Overnight in a hotel in Thimphu.
DAY 6

Day 6: Thimphu to Punakha (1,242m) (3 hrs drive)
Drive to Dochula Pass for Himalayan views. Visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang. Relax by the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Overnight in Punakha.
DAY 7

Day 7: Punakha to Paro (4 hrs drive)
Return to Paro via scenic routes. Visit the National Museum and local handicraft markets. Overnight in Paro. Day 8: Departure from Paro Transfer to Paro International Airport. End of the trek.
