Overview

The Bhrigu Lake Trek is one of the most scenic and rewarding short treks in the Kullu Valley, just a short drive from Manali. Sitting at an altitude of 4,300 meters, Bhrigu Lake is a glacial lake steeped in legend—it’s believed to be the meditation site of the sage Maharishi Bhrigu.

This 3-day trek offers lush alpine meadows, dense cedar forests, and unmatched Himalayan views, all without requiring extensive trekking experience. It’s ideal for those who want a high-altitude experience over a long weekend.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: Manali to Gulaba – Trek to Rola Kholi (6 km, 4–5 hours)

Drive from Manali to Gulaba (22 km / 1.5 hours)
? Begin trek from Gulaba to Rola Kholi (~6 km / 4–5 hours)
? Gentle ascent through forests and open grasslands
⛺ Camp at the scenic Rola Kholi meadow with stream nearby

DAY 2

Day 2: Rola Kholi – Bhrigu Lake – Return to Rola Kholi

Early morning start for summit day (~10 km round trip) ⛰️ Steep but scenic climb through rocky terrain and snow patches ?‍♂️ Reach Bhrigu Lake, a serene high-altitude glacial lake ? Day 3: Rola Kholi – Gulaba – Manali
