Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: Arrival in Kozhikode – Transfer to Vythiri (Wayanad)

Morning: Arrive at Kozhikode (Calicut) Airport/Railway Station. Transfer to Vythiri (approx. 3 hours by road).
Afternoon: Check-in at your eco-resort or heritage stay amidst the hills.
Evening: Relax and unwind. Option to explore the surrounding nature trails or enjoy a bonfire.
Overnight: Stay at your eco-resort in Vythiri.

DAY 2

Day 2: Explore Vythiri – Edakkal Caves & Pookode Lake

Morning: After breakfast, head to the Edakkal Caves (30 min drive). Trek to the caves to witness ancient petroglyphs dating back thousands of years. Enjoy panoramic views of Wayanad from the top. Afternoon: Visit Pookode Lake, a serene freshwater lake surrounded by lush forests. Option to take a boat ride on the lake or enjoy a walk around the area. Evening: Return to the resort and relax. Option for a nature walk or a visit to local markets. Overnight: Stay at your eco-resort.

DAY 3

Day 3: Spice Plantation Tour – Sultan Bathery

Morning: Check out of your resort and head for a guided spice plantation tour. Learn about the various spices grown in Wayanad, including cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon. Afternoon: Visit Sultan Bathery, a historic town in Wayanad. Explore the local culture, the Sultan Bathery Jain Temple, and surrounding countryside. Evening: Enjoy a relaxing evening at your resort. Overnight: Stay at a local heritage homestay or resort.

DAY 4

Day 4: Vellari Mala Waterfalls – Relax at the Resort

Morning: After breakfast, head to Vellari Mala Waterfalls. The trek to the falls is relatively easy and offers a peaceful experience in nature. Day 5: Return to Kozhikode – Departure

Morning: Check out from your resort after breakfast and drive back to Kozhikode (approx. 3 hours). Afternoon: Depending on your departure time, explore Kozhikode Beach or the local markets for souvenirs. Evening: Drop off at Kozhikode Airport/Train Station for your onward journey.
