Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: Arrival in Manali – Transfer to Keylong (Approx. 7-8 hours)
  • Arrival in Manali: Arrive in Manali, where your journey to Lahaul and Spiti begins.
  • Journey to Keylong: After breakfast, depart for Keylong, the administrative center of Lahaul Valley. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Rohtang Pass, crossing lush green meadows, valleys, and small villages.
  • Overnight Stay: Arrive in Keylong, check into your hotel or guesthouse, and rest for the night.
DAY 2

Day 2: Keylong to Jispa – Exploring Lahaul Valley (Approx. 2 hours)
Morning: After breakfast, take a short drive from Keylong to Jispa, a beautiful village located along the Bhaga River. Explore Jispa: Enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Jispa, a perfect place for a short walk by the river or a visit to the nearby Buddhist monastery. Overnight Stay: Spend the night in Jispa at a guesthouse or campsite amidst the breathtaking Himalayan landscape.
DAY 3

Day 3: Jispa to Kaza (Approx. 7-8 hours)
Morning: Post-breakfast, begin the long drive to Kaza, the main town in Spiti Valley, passing through spectacular landscapes. Route Highlights: En route, youll cross several high-altitude passes such as Baralacha La and Kunzum Pass (4,551 meters). The journey offers dramatic views of barren mountains, river valleys, and traditional Spitian villages. Evening Arrival in Kaza: Upon arrival in Kaza, check into your hotel and relax after the long drive. Overnight Stay: Overnight stay in Kaza.
DAY 4

Day 4: Explore Kaza and Nearby Villages
Morning: Visit the Key Monastery, one of the largest and most significant monasteries in Spiti Valley, known for its stunning architecture and spiritual importance. Visit Kibber Village: After Key Monastery, head to Kibber, one of the highest motorable villages in the world. Explore the village, interact with locals, and witness the unique lifestyle. Explore Langza Village: A short drive from Kibber takes you to Langza, famous for its fossil-rich land and panoramic views of the Chau Chau Kang Nilda Peak. Overnight Stay: Return to Kaza for an overnight stay.
DAY 5

Day 5: Kaza to Tabo (Approx. 3-4 hours)
Morning: After breakfast, leave Kaza and drive towards Tabo, known as the Ajanta of the Himalayas Tabo is home to ancient Buddhist caves and the Tabo Monastery, which is over a thousand years old. Visit Tabo Monastery: Explore the monastery and its stunning murals and paintings. The Tabo Monastery is famous for its spiritual significance and serene atmosphere. Visit Dhankar Monastery: If time permits, take a detour to Dhankar Monastery, located on a cliff overlooking the Spiti River. The monastery offers panoramic views of the valley and is a must-see. Overnight Stay: Stay overnight in Tabo, enjoying the peaceful village atmosphere.
DAY 6

Day 6: Tabo to Chicham – Explore Pin Valley (Approx. 6 hours)
Morning: After breakfast, take a scenic drive from Tabo to Chicham, passing through the Pin Valley National Park, famous for its wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. Pin Valley Exploration: The Pin Valley is known for its deep gorges, rare wildlife like the Snow Leopard, and untouched nature. Spend some time hiking or exploring the natural beauty of the region. Overnight Stay: Stay in Chicham or nearby, enjoying a homestay or guesthouse experience.
DAY 7

Day 7: Chicham to Manali (Approx. 10-12 hours)
Morning: After breakfast, begin your long journey back to Manali. The route will pass through beautiful landscapes, and you retrace your journey back via the Kunzum Pass and Rohtang Pass. Evening Arrival: Arrive in Manali by evening. You be dropped off at your desired location, marking the end of your unforgettable Lahaul-Spiti journey.
